About the company

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (North of Greater London) on behalf of our client, a Belgian Luxury Wallcovering Brand.
Our client has been present in the UK market for more than 30 years via a local national distributor. In 2019, the company had the opportunity to take over the activities of the local distributor and are now selling their products directly in the market. Since then, the local team has been growing and today we are looking to reinforce our team.

About the Job

This position requires you to be responsible for the commercial development of the north part (E, EC, N & NW) of the Greater London area. In this role, you will work alongside the Area Sales Manager South London and report to the UK Sales Manager of the brand based in the Head Office in Belgium.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Secure sales growth with existing and new interior designers, architects and upscale retailers both in the high-end residential and project market segments in your area
  • Actively grow our customer network by prospecting new potential clients
  • Place books, sampling and point of sales material
  • Attending national fairs and events
  • Provide weekly sales reports and monthly recaps
  • Maintain a smooth communication and cooperation with the head office in Belgium.

The ideal candidate

Key Skills Required:

  • At least 5 years of sales experience within the interior design industry
  • A broad base of existing relationships with key contacts within the industry
  • A people person with high social skills, empathy and excellent communication skills to build trust and relationships
  • Experience in explaining, pitching and selling high value design products
  • Someone with a great affection for interior design
  • A self-motivated entrepreneur who can work independently to achieve the required results
  • Able to multitask and set priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work without direct oversight
  • Experience in customer management administration and customer relationship building
  • Preferably based in the Greater London area
